19A- Idea Napkin No. 2

19A- Idea Napkin No. 2

1.  You:  Not much has changed since I last wrote my Idea Napkin No. 1.  However, I was able to interview the 5 people closest to me, and gained some new insight about myself and how I am perceived.  I think one thing I neglected to elaborate on about myself is how truly passionate I am.  I feel things so deeply, some days to the point where that problem/ new solution cannot leave my brain.  Some may call this anxiety.  However, I perceive my anxiety as both a blessing and a curse.  Sometimes, issues and concerns need a strong foundation backing the idea/solution up, and I certainly am that foundation for issues I believe in.

2.  What are you offering to customers?   My opportunity has not changed either since my last Idea Napkin.  However, regarding the feedback I received I have decided to expand my opportunity.  At first, I was solely focused on direct flights to New York.  However, why stop there my peers asked me?  And I completely agree.  Rather than be swift about this opportunity, I'd rather go full fledged and make the Gainesville Airport a fully functioning airport like the Orlando and Jacksonville airports. It should be bigger, of better quality, and proudly serve and fly the students of the University of Florida.

3.  Who are you offering it to?  Since I have decided to expand on my idea, and make the Gainesville regional airport full functioning, I am now offering the service to new people.  Rather than students who are from New York, my opportunity will be offered to students from all over the country.  Specifically they need to be looking to get to and from Gainesville, to wherever it may be.

4. Why do they care?  These consumers care because I would be offering them the most time and cost efficient solution to getting to and from Gainesville.  Whether it be over the breaks, holidays, etc, I am offering students piece of mind in that they will be able to book an affordable and easy flight home.  They no longer need to rely on finding rides in the UF ride Facebook group, or putting together money for a $200 dollar Uber to Orlando Airport.

5.  What are your core competencies?  My core competencies have not changed since my last Idea Napkin.  I still would be a consumer of my service/ opportunity.  Therefore, this opportunity affects me, I am wholeheartedly a supporter and consumer of making Gainesville Airport a fully functioning airport.

Feedback Memo:  I took the feedback I received from my last Idea Napkin, and used it to adjust my prototypical customers and overall opportunity/service.  The feedback I received inspired me to expand my opportunity, by constructing Gainesville to be bigger as a whole and to include direct flights to other places besides New York.  In return, this changed my customer base to the city of Gainesville and any student looking to get to and from Gainesville in a cost and time efficient manner.

  1. Sarah,
I really appreciate your perception of anxiety as a blessing. Sometimes anxiety can seem like it takes away from everything else, but anxiety is also a great opportunity to bring attention to issues that may otherwise go unnoticed. I also thought it was very wise of you to expand your service. I also liked how you included "proud to fly the students of UF" as part of what your product is.
